I had hoped to have had my new album ready by now but for various reasons it’s not happened yet. Watch this space for more details. However, the upside is that I’m still writing and have more than enough songs ready. My latest, a tribute to my mate Vin Garbutt, “Vin, Our Teesside Troubadour”, has been endorsed by Vin’s wife Pat and has received over 1200 views on YouTube in its first week online – https://youtu.be/jjMzaj-uTzc
As we move towards Spring, I’m looking forward to a range of gigs around my home town of Middlesbrough starting with a concert alongside the wonderful Jon Strong Band at Toft House on Feb 16th– we‘re back following our gig of a few months ago by popular request. In early March I’ll be headlining a concert organised by Saltburn Folk Club at the local golf club on March 1st – support will be from my mate Ian Swinburne. I’m pleased to be returning to Guisborough Rugby Club too on March 3rd – I’ve been gigging there for 40 years!
I’m very excited to have my song “Rusted” included in Steel Stories, a new, year long exhibition opening at Kirkleatham Museum in April. The song apparently will be the soundtrack to a piece of archive film featuring footage of Teesside’s steel industry. (For more details see https://redcarcleveland.co.uk/enjoy/steel-stories-2/ )
