I’ve been in Florida for the past few weeks writing songs, spending lots of time in some of the wilder places bird watching, getting into the flora and fauna of the area and generally enjoying the relaxed Floridian pace of life. (See facebook for more). No visits to see Micky Mouse so far, but you never know!
It’s been quite a revelation regarding my song writing. In the past it has often been a case of grabbing a little bit of time here and there to write or complete a song, whereas at the moment I have the luxury of being able to devote as much time as I want towards writing and I’m loving it! I’ve done two new songs in two weeks, plus several others started – dead quick by my usual standards. I’m looking forward to getting back into the studio in York to get them recorded with Chris Johnson when I get back to the UK.
Before we left for the USA I really enjoyed playing in Edinburgh at the Wee Folk Club. What a great audience made up of people from France, the USA, Germany, and Holland as well as the UK and such tremendous chorus singers. Thanks Paddy – I look forward to returning.
Good gigs too at Ilkley Playhouse, (great venue, and really helpful staff) with “Sweet Baby James” and at the Stapylton Arms with The Shea Family – thanks Shaun and Sue.
Stop Press!!!! Look out for my actor nephew, Jonathan Davies, in “Casualty” on BBC 1 in September – his first TV appearance
