Christmas and the New Year already seem so far away but I hope that you enjoyed the festivities and that 2014 will be a happy and successful one for you.
I really enjoyed the run up to Christmas – a hectic month which included a joint 60th Birthday Party for Doreen and me, and gigging with Vin Garbutt, “The Teesside Troubadour”, across the North of England. It was quite sobering for us both to realise that we have been friends for 41 years having first met when he played at my teacher training college folk club in Bradford.
Sharing a Travelodge room and shopping at Lidl with him is quite an experience – you should try it sometime.
I particularly enjoyed the hometown gig in Normanby. It was good to catch up with old “folk” friends and to be able to encourage one or two non-folky friends to come along and to see Vin. They all tell me that they going to go to other gigs now – result!
Coming Soon…. The New CD. Watch this space
My long awaited new CD should be here soon. It’s at the stage now where guest musicians are adding their parts – it’s quite complicated to organise as they all have pretty full diaries. I’m hoping that this should be completed by the end of February and I am aiming for an April release. I keep being asked what it’s going to be called and at the moment I don’t know. I am waiting for inspiration to strike – any suggestions gratefully received.
